With its location in the middle of the Alps, Switzerland is a Mekka of skiing. There are approximately 150 ski resorts, of which La Tzoumaz, Verbier and St. Moritz are most famous. In Switzerland you will find pleasant mountain villages, fantastic panorama views, and last, but not least, incredibly hospitable people. Additionally, the conditions for skiers and snowboarders alike are extremely good.
Switzerland has until now not been among the most popular destinations for tourists, and this has mainly been due to the price level. Nevertheless, the Swiss ski resorts are not that much more expensive than the other ski resorts in the Alps, and in Switzerland you can be completely sure that you get full value for your money. The hospitality, the food, and the slope standards are in a league of their own.
On the negative side, the ski lifts are not always ofthe same standard, and Switzerland is not so snow secure. Still, these are merely minor drawbacks in a very good totality. Switzerland is an excellent destination for a skiing vacation.
